Kumki story revolves around kumki elephants, with hero portraying a mahout. Movie is to be directed by Mynaa fame Prabhu solomon, starring Vikram Prabhu son of actor Prabhu.
Prabhu Solomon wowed critics in 2010 with Mynaa- a film that went on to win Best Film at the 58th Filmfare Awards- Tamil. Having set the bar so high, he has just that much more to lose. Recently, there was an audio launch of the film's music that was highly appreciated. Even big names such as Kamal Haassan and Rajinikanth were present at the event. D.Imman's music numbers have already created quite a buzz, not just for the audio but for the film itself.
Kumki marks the acting debut of Vikram Prabhu, son of actor Prabhu and grandson of late legendary actor, Sivaji Ganesan. The film is said to revolve around kumki elephants; elephants that are trained to keep away rogue elephants from the village. Vikram plays a mahout and Lakshmi Menon, his love interest. Thambi Ramaiah who won a national award for his work in Prabhu Solomon's Mynaa, re-teams with the director in Kumki.
